Seahorseski Sponsors Barefootski State Titles
The Queensland State Barefoot Titles were held during the 4th,5th,& 6th of December at Calliope, Gladstone. Seahorseski was just one of the many sponsors for the weekend event. Many keen barefoot skiers traveled from all over Queensland to take part in the event from as far as Emerald, Cairns, & the Gold Coast.
Many age divisions competed
There are many age categories from sub-junior boys and girls to Vet Mens & Womens division that were seen competing during the weekend. Many of the younger age divisions achieved outstanding results also. The organisers for the event did an incredible job making it such a great weekend for all. Well done guys!
A Crowd gather along with 7 News...
The event attracted many locals from Calliope & Gladstone had the opportunity to meet many of the elite team who have represented Australia in the World Barefoot skiing Titles over the years & many newcomers to the sport. Many spectators were able to witness some incredible barefoot skiing from so many amazing athletes, some who hadn't been Barefooting for very long at all. So many skiers reached personal bests during the weekend, which was celebrated by everyone.
2005 World Champion barefoot skier Cameron Smith was in fine form, as was the upcoming younger barefoot skiers such as Nik Bray who is current junior boys champion for Australia skiing out some great scores also. These skiers were interviewed by channel 7 news crew. "Skiers put a spectacle for the public in their slalom jump and trick events". The spotlight of fame saw both Nik and Cameron to hold their place in the state titles.
